Head Coach & GM
Brian Thompson will lead the Stampede into the 2022-23 season, his first season as the team's Head Coach and General Manager.
Thompson, who is entering his fourth season of coaching in the USPHL, is a native of Westerville, OH. Prior to taking the helm with the Stampede, he spent the last three seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Columbus Mavericks in the USPHL Great Lakes division. During his most recent season with the Mavericks, Thompson helped to lead the team to a program-best 32-13-2-1 record and third place finish in their division.
In addition to over 15 years of coaching experience, Thompson played ACHA Division 1 hockey for the University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos, leading the team to their first ever ACHA Final Four appearance. Prior to his collegiate career, he played three years of junior hockey in the Central States Hockey League.
Away from the rink, Thompson resides in Corfu with his dog, Jack, after recently relocating from Central Ohio.
I am originally from Boston, MA grew up playing my youth hockey in Canton MA and the Metro Boston Hockey League. Went on to the St Sebastians Prep School where players were drafted year in and out. After High School I received a full scholarship to play for Merrimack College in Hockey East where I served as a captain my senior year. After 4 years a Merrimack went on to the pros but my career was cut short due to injury. I have been a skills coach for over 10 years and I have coached in the CAJHL, NA3 and USPHL. I have been involved with the game for over 30 years. My main home is in Florida with my fiancé Jeannine and my dog Reign.
T.J. Dockery is entering his first season as an Assistant Coach on the Buffalo Stampede staff.
Dockery, who is a Lockport, NY native, who played his youth hockey with the Buffalo Regals and two seasons of junior hockey with the Rochester Jr. Americans and South Shore Kings, before committing to play NCAA college hockey at Norwich University. During his four seasons at Norwich, Dockery won a National Championship and led the team as Captain for two seasons. Following his college hockey career, T.J. spent two seasons playing professional hockey in the SPHL for the Macon Mayhem, Pensacola Ice Flyers, and Evansville Thunderbolts.
Following his retirement from hockey, T.J. and his brother founded their own hockey school which they have been operating for the past four years.
Anthony Micucci is entering his first season as the Goaltending Coach on the Buffalo Stampede staff.
Micucci, has been coaching goalies in western New York and across the country for nearly three decades, including running his own goalie school for over 27 years. In addition to operating his goaltending schools, Micucci has held a number of past and current coaching positions, including the Elmira Mammoth of the FPHL, Jamestown Rebels of the NAHL, and St. Francis Prep.
Away from the rink, Micucci resides in Hamburg, NY with his wife Amy and their two sons, Blake (a current member of the Stampede) and Trevor (a professional goalie with the Elmira Mammoth of the FPHL).
