Cory Mickey Joins Coaching Staff

The Buffalo Stampede ownership group announced this week that the team has added to the Inaugural Season coaching staff with the hire of Goalie and Skills Coach, Cory Mickey.
A native of Buffalo, NY, Mickey brings over a decade of coaching and player development experience to the Stampede. After playing college hockey for Southern New Hampshire University and a short professional career in the NEHL, Cory began his coaching career, initially spending time with the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, Buffalo State, and Niagara University men's hockey team as an assistant coach. More recently, Mickey was the Goaltending Coach for the NWHL's Buffalo Beauts from 2017-2019, and is currently the Skills Development Coach for the 2021 Kelly Cup Champions, the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL.
In addition to his junior, collegiate, and professional coaching responsibilities, Mickey has spent time working with numerous prestigious hockey schools, including 3D Hockey, Golden Horseshoe Hockey School, Mitch Korn's Goalie Camp, and many more. Away from the Stampede, Cory resides in Amherst, NY with his family.
